Build an A-frame house. Step by step

Below we have outlined every step you will take before moving into your new Nomadic Home. Of course, we’ll be with you on every step of this journey, making the process as clear and smooth as possible. Our streamlined process bypasses typical construction delays.

1. Buy and prepare the site

If you don’t already own it, you will need to buy a land the house will be built on. If you’re unsure about purchasing land, we can provide guidance on the ideal size and layout based on your chosen A-frame house model, as well as information about preparing the site.

2. Choose the house model

Choose between Model S, M or L. We’ll have a thorough consultation with you to make sure you choose the best possible model based on your needs and preferences. During this phase you can customize multiple aspects of your house, including wood colours, roof colours, insulation levels, and more.

3. Sign the contract

Once the initial planning stage is complete and we have agreed on all details of your house, it’s time to review and sign the purchasing contract. At this point, we will start manufacturing your house and you will make your first payment.

4. Obtain the permits

While we’re in the process of manufacturing your chosen A-frame house, we will provide you with detailed architectural plans for your chosen model. You will need to obtain the structural foundation, electrical, and plumbing plans – all of these are required to apply for a building permit with your local authorities.

Make your second payment (40%)

5. We ship your house

3-4 weeks after the purchasing contract is signed, the manufacturing process will be complete. Before we ship house components and construction materials to your building site, you will need to make your second payment. As soon as we receive the second payment and the building permit is approved by the local authorities, we will ship all materials in preparation for assembly.

6. We assemble your house

We will build your new A-frame house at your chosen site. Once we have completed the structure and before we begin the insulation, you will make the payment for this stage. If you choose the additional option for us to build the interior finishings – the Fixing and Fit-off stage show on each of the Model’s webpage – this is when we’ll also start working on that stage.

7. Thorough handover

Once all construction has been completed, we will do a thorough handover, providing you with all house documentation and quality certifications.
